Compared with double toggle jaw crusher, single toggle jaw crusher has the advantages of low cost and high production efficiency. At present, single toggle jaw crusher has taken place of double toggle jaw crusher widely used in many industries. Crushing cavity of single toggle jaw crusher is made of moving jaw,fixed jaw and sideward liner plates. Rational cavity shape can perfect particle size and reduce broken energy consumption so that economic benefit can be increased. The design of traditional jaw crusher is based on mechanism of double toggle jaw crusher and experience, it can not meet the demand of sustainable design and manufacture. With the develop of computer technique, the design of jaw crusher has turned to computer aided design. But the quality of jaw crusher made at home has a large gap compared with world standard. It is caused mainly by out-dated design philosophy and out-dated cavity shape design. It also exits the problem that toothed plates abrade seriously. So we should make use of computer technique in designing and optimizing jaw crusher.Taking single toggle jaw crusher for example, this article discusses the motion characteristic of tooth surface. Based on material flow characteristic, this article introduces a design method of jaw plate using the function of pro/e parameterization design. When crushing cavity shape is designed, material flow characteristic should be considered. Crushing cavity shape determines the shape of outside contour curve of jaw plate. The structure of jaw plate can be changed while modifying parameters. Parameterization design is convenient to finite-element analysis of jaw plate. The content of this article as follows:[1] Applying the Pro/E simulation function, this article discusses the movable characteristic of crushing jaw plate. Combined with the point characteristic curve of displacement,speed and acceleration in jaw plate, material flow condition in crushing cavity can be analyzed. Based on the material flow characteristic, this article illustrates a method of design and optimization of cavity shape.[2] Based on the design of crushing cavity shape, the outside contour curve of jaw plate can be obtained. Jaw plate model can be accurately created using the function of Pro/E parameterization design. When jaw plate model is completed, the shape of jaw plate can be changed by modifying parameters.[3] The characteristic of broken materials in crushing cavity is single particle primary crush. When ores enter into feed port, it is crushed by extruding of fixed jaw and movable jaw. It is also called single particle crush. Under the action of gravity crushed materials flow downward. In the course of material flowing single particle crush also happens. In the middle of crushing cavity it also exits single particle crush. At the bottom of crushing cavity the number of materials that are crushed by the means of single particle crush is large. It provides reasonable reference for analyzing jaw plate by loading.[4] Using finite element method, jaw plate can be analyzed in stress and deformation. After importing jaw plate model to ansys, we should choose appropriate element type,material properties. After that jaw plate can be meshed. By loading in different places of jaw plate, we analyze the stress-strain diagram of jaw plate.We can have a idea of complicated movement of swing jaw by the research of jaw plate motion characteristic,jaw plate three-dimensional model and finite-element analysis. Three-dimensional model of jaw plate provides reference for design and optimization. Force of analysis of jaw plate that is convenient for optimizing jaw plate can be described by loading in three segments of jaw plate. In a word, analysis results of jaw plate can provide theory reference for developing and improving model library of jaw plate.
