Cross Wedge Rolling of shaft parts is a new plastic forming technology, which is rolling and forging interdisciplinary subject areas. It has very high production efficiency, higher utilization ratio of the material and low production cost, and widely used in railway vehicles axles, tractors axle and other large, medium and small ladder shaft key parts manufacturing.This article based on the analysis of cross wedge rolling principle, focused on the three-roll cross wedge rolling system technology, has developed slender odd-shaped cross section and asymmetric stepped shaft parts of symmetric rolling methods, completed mold design, simulated metal flow law of rolling deformation , calculated the rolling force and rolling torque, provided a theoretical basis for a special parts of the three-roll cross wedge rolling . The main contents of this paper include:In the three-roll cross wedge rolling process, rolling is in a more favorable stress state, to obtain high internal quality products. But the roll diameter subject to strict restrictions on the geometric relationship, and this research is about slender odd-shaped cross section and asymmetric stepped shaft parts of symmetric rolling, so there have great difficulties in die and groove designs. Through the analysis of stepped shaft parts, this paper innovate a new method of layout wedge for rolling out a thin stepped shaft parts, which maximum limit shorten the length of deformed wedge, complete the rolling process in restricted geometry within the diameter of the roller and ensure the quality of the final product.Three-roll cross wedge rolling of the roll surface length is limited, how to shorten the length of access to materials to ensure the effective use of the roll surface, is one of the key that rolling stepped shaft can be achieved. In this paper, side into and out of the shotted is a clever way to solve long pieces of rolling difficulty to feeding and catching, making the long axis of the rolling possible. In addition, this paper based on the previous improve the way side into and out of the shotted , reduce feeding and catching section of central angle by ten , shorten the length of feeding and catching section, thereby increasing the effective length of the roll surface,and to some extent reduce limit of the length of the roll surface of the three-roll cross wedge rolling to rolling process.By using Pro / E to establish three-dimensional model, using FEM software DEFORM and according to rolling parameters of three-roll cross wedge rolling(DS200), the paper simulated three-roll cross wedge rolling process of rolling. The simulation results with the requirements of the subject are basically the same size specifications to meet project needs.
