Pneumatic technology has been applied in many industry production fields, however,its efficiency is relatively low,which hinders its development seriously.Based on Pascal theory,air driven gas booster is a reciprocating kind of gas compressors,and it is mainly used to make partial system acquire high pressure without increasing the ar source pressure.With its advantages of using low pressure air as power,supercharging efficiently,structured compactly,being portable and explosion-proof,reducing the cost and installing spaces to a great extent,air driven gas booster has been widely used in many fields such as low pressure gas reclaiming,high-pressure gas injection,gas pressure components testing and leak testing.However,for previous gas boosters, driving air is always supplied both during compression stroke and suction stroke,and its pressure is same,and aider doing work,driving air whose pressure is still relatively high, is totally discharged to the atmosphere,which not only wastes energy greatly,but also consumes too much driving air.Therefore,a set of air compressor with more power is needed,which increases the cost.This paper began with the analysis of structure and working principle of previous air driving gas boosters,summarized their common characteristics,and thein deficiencies on energy-saving were found out.Then,by using experience of air cylinder energy saving for reference and combining with working features of air driving gas booster,five energy-saving schemes were presented which might reduce the consumption of driving air.Finally,prototype was designed and manufactured,comparison experiments under same conditions with previous gas booster was carried out,the feasibility of tow energy-saving schemes were verified by experiment.Experiment results shows that mostly 31%of driving air can be saved by using the energy-saving scheme of Single Stroke Air Supply proposed in this paper,and 10%of Changing Pressure Driving.In addition,solution scheme for temperature increment of Single Stroke Air Supply was proposed,and was verified by experiment that the solution scheme could effectively curb the increase trend.
