Study On Chemical Constituents And Quality Standard

Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet is an erect,woody,gray,velvety,shrubby plant widely distributed in the tropical countries.All parts of the plant are used medicinally,useful as demulcent,taken internally in bronchitis,catarrhal diarrhea,gonorrhea,inflammation of the bladder,chest affection,arthritis,fever,and as mouthwash in toothache. Phytochemical investigation of Abutilon indicum showed it to contain flavonoids,gallic acid,glycosides,amino acid,saponins,essential oils and alkaloids,and so on.In this paper it showed the research on chemical constituents of Abutilon indicum,from which selected an active compound to make quanlity control standard.It was known that the flavonoids had effective pharmacological activity.In this thesis the content of total flavonoids were determined,and a best extracting method was found.These results can be served as basement for the further study of Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet.They also afford reliable experimental basis for the application of HPLC in quality control of Traditional Chinese Medicine.1 Summarized the the researches on the sources,chemical constituents, pharmacology and clinical application of Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet,and provided a reference for further research and development of Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet.2 9 compounds were isolated from Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet with silica gel, polyamide column and Sephadex LH-20 chromatography,and 8 of them were identified by physical-chemical methods and spectral analysis.They wereβ-sitosterol(1),oleanolic acid(2),(24R)-5α-stigrnastane-3,6-dione(3),daucosterol(4),2,6-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone(5), vanillic acid(6),Kaempferol-3-O-(6"- trans-p-coumaroyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside(7), gossypin(8).Compounds 2-5,7 were obtained from Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet for the first time.3 Determined the content of total flavonoids in Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet by spectrophotopic methods,and investigated the extraction conditions.4 Selected gossypin as the aim contituent to determined its content of in Abutilon indicum(L.)Sweet.
