Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Compound Polyporus Umbellatus Decoction in treating the syndrome of Yin-deficiency and water-heat combined in the chronic glomerulonephritis Patients. Methods : 60 cases of chronic glomerulonephritis patients with the syndrome of water and heat combined ,were randomly divided into treatment group (30) treated by Compound Polyporus Umbellatus Decoction and control group (30) treated by Polyporus Umbellatus Decoction respectively for 3 months. The urine protein, urine red blood cell, serum creatinine (SCR) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured before and after the treatment. The changes of accumulating grade of TCM syndrome were observed at the same time.Result: (1) In reducing the accumulating grade of TCM syndrome, there was significant difference in both groups (P<0.01). While no difference between the two groups (P>0.05). (2) The levers of the urine protein were significantly reduced in both groups (P<0.01), and the effect of the treatment group was superior to the control group (P<0.01). (3) The Urine RBC SCR and BUN were significantly reduced in the two groups (P<0.05), but there was no differences between both groups (P<0.05).Conclusion: Both groups have good curative effect in treating syndrome of Yin deficiency and water-heat combined in the chronic glomerulonephritis patients. While the treat meant group is superior to the control group in total curative effect. It is indicated that Qi deficiency of Spleen and kidney is another key pathogenesis in Yin-deficient and water-heat combined syndrome in chronic glomerulonephritis patients.
