| Objective: To observe the curative effects of Chinese traditional medicine , having the function of "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation", on peditric isolated hematuria(IH). Then to discuss the pathogenesis of isolated hematuria(IH) and the mechanisma of Chinese medication. To make a foundation for developing new type Chinese traditional medicine preparation in treating peditric isolated hematuria.Materials and methods: 31 isolated hematuria patients , who have been treated in our hospital from Jul. 2001 to Feb. 2005, were randomly divided into 2 group: Chinese traditional medicine treatment group( 20 cases, 13 males, 7 females, mean age 7.52 + 3.80 years)and Western medicine comparison group(11 cases, 9 males, 2 females, mean age 8.76 ± 2.84 years). The treatment group patients received Chinese traditional medicine having the function of "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation", the comparison group patients were treated with Western medicine following theirs symptom. To observe the curative effects of 2 group.Result: 1. The counts of uric sediment red blood bell are reduced obviously by treating with the Chinese medication, which have the function of "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation". Comparing with before treatment, there is very marked different(t=4.211, p < 0.01), but there is no marked different in comparison group(p > 0.05); Contrast two group before and after treatment, the treatment group's counts of uric sediment red blood bell are lest than those of the comparison group after treating 3 months and 6 months(t=2.924, p < 0.05; t=2.924, p < 0.01), there is a marked different. 2. The total efficiency of the treatment group is 95%, it is superior to the comparison group, whose efficiency is 45.45 %(x2=54.80, p < 0.01).Discussion: 1.The pathogeny of IH is multiplicate and complicated, the course is continuous, the state is always repeating. It often characterize "Kidney Deficiency and BloodStasis" in clinic. "Kidney Deficiency must be concurrent with Blood Stasis, Blood Stasis aggravates Kidney Deficiency." "Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis" is the important pathogenesis of isolated hematuria(IH), Kidney Deficiency is essence , Blood Stasis is representation, they influence one another, be cause and effect each other.2. "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation" is the important principle in treating IH. "Benefiting the kidney need Promoting blood circulation, the kidney is prone to recovering by promoting blood circulation", we should flexibly predominate the purport of "Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis" in distinguish symptom. Investigate carefully, prescribe drug prudently, apply "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation" flexibly according to state of the illness's change.3. "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation" is not just to add Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation simply, but to combine them organically. Benefiting the kidney is good for Promoting blood circulation, Promoting blood circulation is good for Benefiting the kidney. Apply them flexibly in clinic, in order to improve pathologic change of "Kidney Deficiency and Blood Stasis". This investigation shows "Benefiting the kidney and Promoting blood circulation", which is applied to treat IH in clinic, can reduce the excretion of uric red blood bell, improve curative effect, shorten period of treatment.
