The Expression And Significance Of VEGF And CD147 In Cervical Carcinoma

Objective:This study was designed to observe the expression of VEGF and CD147 in normal cervical epithelia,cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),and cervical carcinoma. Furthmore,to analyze their association with the pathological features and their relationship with the development,invasion and metastasis of the cervical carcinomal. And to demonstrate the potential use of VEGF and CD147 as a diagnostic and therapeutic agent.Methods:The expression of VEGF and CD147 was investigated by immunohistochemistry in I00 cases,including 20 cases of normal cervical epithelia,21 cases of CIN,and 59 cases of cervical carcinoma.The expression level of CD147 and VEGF in cervical carcinoma was analyzed against clinical pathological factors such as clinical stage and histological grade.Moreover,CD147 expression in comparison with VEGF was investigated preliminarily.Results:1.The percentage of CD147 positive expression increased from normal cervical epithelia(35.000%) to CIN(76.190%) to cervical carcinoma(91.525%)(P=0.000). Among them,there was statistically significance between normal cervical epithelia and CIN(P=0.000),between normal cervical epithelia and cervical carcinoma (P=0.000),and between CIN and cervical carcinoma(P=0.001).2.The positive expression of CD147 in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than without.The difference of expression was statistically significance(P＜0.05).But there was no relationship with the other clinical markers(e.g.age of patients,clinical stage,tumor shape,pathological grade and type)(P＞0.05).3.The expression of VEGF was 10.000%,57.143%,76.271%respectively in normal cervical epithelia,CIN and cervical carcinoma.The tendency was increased (P＜0.05).The positive expression of VEGF was statistically difference between normal cervical epithelia and CIN(P=0.001 ),between normal cervical epithelia and cervical carcinoma(P=0.000).However,there was no statistically significance between CIN and cervical carcinoma(P=0.228)4.VEGF was expressed significantly higher in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis than without(P＜0.05 ).There was no significantly difference between VEGF and other clinical features(P＞0.05).5.The expression of CD147 and VEGF was positive correlated in cervical carcinoma(r_s=0.268,P＜0.05).Conclusion:The expression of CD147 and VEGF was obviously increased from normal cervical epithelia to CIN to cervical carcinoma.Both of the positive expression level of CD147 and VEGF was higher in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis than without.Given these observations,we concluded that CD147 and VEGF may play an important role in the development and metastasis of cervical carcinoma.It was also found that the expression of CD147 was positive correlated with the expression of VEGF in cervical carcinoma,which suggested that CD147 may induce the development in cervical carcinoma by increasing the expression of VEGF.
