During period of Jiaqing Daoguang and Xianfeng, the government of Qing had been losing the control ability for society, then the blemish of the Qian Jia Textual Research had been discovered undoubtedly when violent social change happened. Academic mood has occurred subtle change, which showed the theory of realism appeared the academic circle again, including the scholar who were moralists, such as Tangjian. In 1840, Tangjian gave the lectures in Beijing when he was appointed Taichangsiqing . Most of his students were men of the time later. Although Tangjian did not bring forth new ideas in theory, he was the most pioneer of the reconstruction of ChengZhu' theory in later Qing. In 1845, Tangjian has printed his CUO CHAO CUE AN XIAO SHI. In the text, Tangjian clarified his doctrine that is defending ChengZhu' s orthodox and fighting off heterodoxy including WANGXUE and HAN XUE. Some people whose point of view were similar to Tangjian' s thought this important text could differentiate orthodox , while more scholars else thought the value of the text's learned was not high because of his jaundice. Under the double crisis of domestic trouble and foreign invasion, the modern ideas, no matter beingconservative or radical , were the outcome that responded to changing time. This paper discusses Tangjiang' s idea from three parts: the social background, academic background and domestic and individual background from which Tangjian's idea derived; the propagandist pedigrees, theory of defending conventional moral principles, cultural thought and achievement thought of which Tangjian's idea consisted; the theory of moralists such as Zengguofan and Woren in later Qing and the fate after momentary rejuvenation of ChengZhu' s Confucianism.
