Tourism text translation, one of the practical translations, has not been received due attention in the history of translation theory. The extant Literature suggests that it is not of those texts which aren't worth academic research, for tourism text is culturally dense and its translation directly influence the development of tourist industry.It is well known that language is the carrier and container of culture which includes a wide rage of people's beliefs, arts, morals, aesthetics and sense of values, and translation is the bridge between languages which are mirrors of different cultures, so translation involves language as well as culture. There is no doubt that tourism text translation can't be separated from the interpretation of the interwoven relationship of language and culture. Therefore, it is essential to comprehend different features in English and Chinese tourism texts. This thesis is devoted to analyze four differences in English and Chinese tourism texts:â‘  splendid description versus objective statement;â‘¡ separation versus integrity of subjective emotions and objective imitation, and reproduction;â‘¢ past orientation versus present orientation;â‘£ plenty of quotations versus direct expression of theme.Tourism text translation is a promising field for translation studies because of the benefit that is able to be brought about. However, some translations are meaningless or offensive in the target setting as a consequence of violating the linguistic and socio-cultural norms. Keeping this in mind and trying to explore new research perspective for tourism text translation, the author ventures to make a tentative study on the tourism text translation from the perspective of the Theory of Adaptation.
