With the development of society and economy,the need for education,especially higher education,develops rapidly too.With government's attention and great devotion in recent years,vocational education develops rapidly too.It plays a great role in higher education in our country.The increasing number of students in polytechnic colleges brings great pressure on college English teaching in polytechnic colleges. How to improve the teaching efficiency becomes a problem needs to be resolved immediately.The development of science and technology,especially computer bring us new outlook.CALL was introduced into college English teaching in polytechnic colleges in recent years.The development and study of CALL begins earlier in western countries.CALL stems from 1990s and accumulated plentiful experience in many key universities or undergraduate universities,but the application of CALL begins late in polytechnic colleges.We are confident in studying from the experience of undergraduate universities and finding a way which is suitable for polytechnic college English teaching,but it will be a long way to go.The purpose of this thesis discusses the current college English teaching in polytechnic colleges facing the difficulties as well as College English Teaching basic information,computer-assisted teaching of English history and the basic ideas.Computer-aided teaching of English history,is divided into three stages of development stage behavioristic CALL,communicative CALL and constructivism CALL.Furthering study the basic theory of constructivism is the based of the cornerstone of the computer-aided teaching.The article focuses on polytechnic colleges and my teaching practice and my own teaching experience,mainly in computer-aided teaching of English in polytechnic college English Teaching first-hand empirical material.In conclusion,computer-aided polytechnic colleges' College English Teaching will have a bright future.As the multimedia technology and computer networks have shown great advantages,the polytechnic colleges' College English Teaching in teaching materials,teaching methods and means of teaching and learning process as a whole have undergone tremendous changes.Therefore,the study of such a teaching model in college English teaching,promotes greatly on the polytechnic colleges' College English Teaching.In this thesis,the teaching practice,the use of experimental empirical research, refining a number of computer-aided College English achivements,are likely to promote polytechnic colleges' College English Teaching.
