In recent years, Task-based language teaching methods are more and more popular in English language teaching field both at home and abroad. With the development of languages research, language learning research, and the second language acquisition research, on the one hand, task-based teaching absorbs nutrition from these research results and then becomes increasingly mature; On the other hand, the potential and value of task-based teaching is concerned and approved by the language teaching experts and scholars in the following aspects such as:establishing a student-centered class, creating realistic natural language learning environment, increasing information input, promoting linguistic output, providing learners with opportunities for interaction and meaning negotiation, developing abilities of autonomy, solving problems with languages. Especially in the last 10 years, the research on Foreign Language Communicative learning task is a hot spot in second language acquisition research and classroom teaching research.However, the current college English teaching efficiency is not optimistic, and college students'English listening and speaking ability is particularly worrisome. Therefore, this thesis aims to show the effectiveness and feasibility of task-based language teaching in China's college students'English listening and speaking class by means of questionnaire survey and teaching experiment.The thesis is divided into five parts. Chapter I is the Introduction, in which it describes the research background, research purposes, current problems existing in college English listening and speaking teaching in China, as well as the framework of the whole text. Chapter II is literature review. It introduces the theoretical basis of "task" and "task-based language teaching", including their definitions and some main features. Chapter III is research design and methodology. This chapter describes the purpose, objects and methods of the experiment. Chapter IV is the experimental findings and discussion, which shows the experimental data and results, and gives analysis in order to conclude that students have a positive attitude to Task-based language teaching, and employing task-based language teaching approach in college English listening and speaking class is practical. The final chapter is a conclusion. It further illustrates the impact of task-based language teaching on language Teaching.
