It is a remarkable topic that how Chinese education affects human's growing up. The 8th Chinese course reform interests many people in mother tongue reading and education. We should reconsider the function and value of Chinese education. Mother tongue education possesses ontology. Mother tongue is a indivisible part of a human being. Language is human's essence. Chinese education is important.The practice of mother tongue education domestic and abroad proves that reading education is the core of mother tongue education. Extensive reading and accumulation only can make Chinese part of you. The reading object is concerned firstly. We should select the texts that can represent Chinese characteristics. And we should select both ancient and modern ones.The idea of reading education concerned on" language should regards reading education as a arousing of students' heart, taste of their lives, inosculation of students and texts, fair, free dialog among teachers, authors, students and texts, process of students' self-understanding.The practice of reading teaching based on above factors should pay attention to cultivate students' language sense and inspire their passion to original works. The understanding of texts is a important part of Chinese reading teaching. We should lead students' reading to deepness and broadness by all sorts of means. For example, exaggerating words' meanings, understanding in different ways, comprehension between texts, criticizing and so on. Teachers can do more in reading teaching. The new course reform gives teachers more chances to recompose, explore and make use of resource of mother tongue reading course. The future of mother tongue reading education is fine.
