Lishui is located in the southeast suburbs of Nanjing, which belongs to the hillyground. Lishui is a transition zone of dialect from Jianghuai Mandarin to Wu dialect,of which there are also several dialect islands of Henan and Hunan immigrantdialects intermingled during migration. This article chooses Hunan immigrant dialectwith a immigration history of a hundred years as the survey object, and tries todescribe its latest phonetic system. By each contrast with the medieval tone,Mandarin and Yiyang dialects, it will demonstrate the comprehensive and systematicsituation of Lishui Hunan immigration dialect.This paper is consisted with six chapters in total. Chapter one is an introductionabout the location, population and dialect distribution of Lishui and a description ofthe history of Lishui Hunan immigrants, their living situation, the usage of theirdialect and the information of speaker. Chapter two describes the phonetic systemand introduces the features of Lishui Hunan dialect by initials, finals, tones and thematch of initials and finals. At the same time, we get its Homonyms table. Chapterthree tries to find the evolution rules of Lishui Hunan dialect through the constrastwith Medieval allophones. Chapter four is the result of the comparisons betweenLishui Hunan dialect and Chinese Mandarin. Chapter five selects Yiyang dialect as thereference dialect with some other research results of Xiang dialect and comparesLishui Hunan dialect with them. This chapter aims to look for the correspondencerules so as to judge if Lishui Hunan dialect still belongs to Xiang dialect. The lastchapter is a conclusion about Lishui Hunan dialect and the whole paper. In thischapter, we also predict that Lishui Hunan dialect would keep changing at a highspeed and might disappear because of the strong influence from Chinese Mandarinand the other native dialects.
