The content of the article is to research the information management ofshipbuilding for S company in offshore projects. To find a process tracking methodwhich could promote the ability for controlling the process and suitable for offshoreprojects by analyzing the work process in parts of work phases. And also hope thereference could be find in the article for researching the information management inother work process.Based on the actual work process–purchasing, un-package inspection,installation, commissioning inspection and hand-over, the research idea of the paperis to use the causal analysis to find the shortcomings of the equipments managementinformation system function structure integrity and multi-system data integrationaccording the especial requirements of offshore projects. On this result, thecompletion management system improved. And though upgrading workflow,improving new system function modules, strengthening information and dataconnection between the multi-modules, the equipments management requirements issatisfied. At last, building the project management maturity module and doing themathematical calculation using element analysis method to judge the effectiveness ofthe management system in JU2000Self-elevating Drilling Platform.In the end, the paper introduced the product life-cycle management anddescribed the trend of development of information management in shipbuilding foroffshore projects in the future based on the development of the offshore engineeringprojects and informatization level.
