Fire dike is one of the most important instruments to protect the depot, and the securityfunction of fire dike is particularly important when the accidents occurred in the tank farm.When the accident happens and trends to further expand, it will be expanded and theeconomic losses will be intensified once the fire dike lose efficacy.Accidents that are likely to occur in tank land are leaks, fires, explosions, etc. This articlefocuses on the fire dike’s damage situation under fire and tank explosion and if the fire dikecan keep the security.The main context of this paper includes the following4points:1) Experimental study of fire dike under simulated pool fire.Fire temperature and radiation distribution of small size pool fire are studied on thesimulation platform of pool fire. Small size pool fire is used to study the fireproofperformance of concrete material and the cross section temperature distribution of fire dikeunder the fire thermal load section.2) Simulation study on the actual tank fire behavior.Building pool fire model and using Fluent software to simulate spatial temperaturedistribution and the radiation field distribution of the actual tank farm in fire environment inorder to get the thermal load of fire dike in pool fire situation. It is used to provide initialthermal loading conditions on thermal analysis of concrete dike fire.3) Research on damage of concrete fire dike under thermal load.Different thickness and its cross section’s temperature of concrete fire dike are studiedwith finite element thermal analysis. Then calculate the bearing capacity of concrete fire dikeusing the equivalent section method and judge if fire dike lose effectiveness or not after thefire situation.4) Research on fire dike’s damage by explosion shock waves.LS-DYNA dynamic software is used to simulate the dynamic response of concrete dikefire under explosion shock waves. Analyze stress and strain generated by the concrete firedike during the explosion shock waves work and judge if the fire dike lose efficacy in theexplosion accident. Analyze different conditions of wall thickness, peak load, shock loadingtime and draw out effectively measures to reduce the maximum stress and contingency inorder to enhance the ability of fire dike to withstand shock loads.Through the research work above, the load and the bearing capacity of concrete fire dikewhen a tank farm happens a fire or an explosion accident are draw out, the results show fire dike would be damage caused by fire and explosion shock, and the results have a certainreference value for the design of fire dike.
