Research On The Interactive Design Of City Tourist Electronic Map

Along with the rapid development of the urban modern process, more and more people choose city as their place to travel and relax. As a basic tool that people use to know about a city, the city tourist map has developed fast in the recent several years. Owing to the technology developments of computer, cartography and internet, the electronic map has got the people's favor gradually. But still there are so many problems in the design of city tourist maps, a few of which are short of the theory guidance and look not scientific and artistic. So far, there is no standardization of city tourist map symbols, which makes it difficult for tourists to use the map in a way. Further more, there is no special design system for city tourist map, which makes it difficult for city tourists to interactively produce their own maps. Therefore, this paper makes a pilot study on the interactive design of city tourist maps, and the main achievements of this paper are the follows:1,This paper studied the current situation, problems and future of the city tourist maps, and then shown out the study target and content of the paper.2,It analyzed the characters, design principles and interactive design theories of electronic maps, then introduced some important problems that will be resolved in the interactive design of electronic maps.3,In the third part of this paper, the key techniques in the interactive design of city tourist maps ware studied, including: the characters and types of users of city tourist maps; the data structure and coding of city tourist elements; the city tourist map symbol system; the design of city tourist map symbol library; the color design and the template technique.4,In the forth part, a user visual perception experiment was adopted to evaluate the visual perception about the city tourist map symbols, symbol library and the whole map design, then according to the analysis of experiment data and user's advices, the city tourist map color design principles were set up and the map templates were designed.5,Finally, the city tourist electronic map interactive design system was implemented. This system provides users several different types of map templates to choose, users can choose any template according to their needs to finish the map design, and can design or modify the map by themselves based on their fancy.
