Objective:To explore the APS monomer on "Lung Qi Deficiency" permits the regulation of immune function.Methods:1. Animal groups:the election of Kunming male mice, weighted between 18-22g, divided randomly into 6 groups, n=8.The name of six groups were control group, model group, positive control group, high-dose of APS group (H for short), medium-dose of APS group (M for short), low-dose of APS group (L for short).2. Modeling and model testing:Except for the control group, the other groups were placed in the box filled with 50L smoke. Each group was smoked two cigarettes each row and there was an interval of 5 minutes between two cigarettes. This took twice a day and was consecutive 15 days. In the process of modeling, the general conditions of mice were observed. Each mouse was weighed and calculated change of body' qualities in the modeling section 1,5,10,15 days3. Delivery dosage:after the end of administration, each group of modeling animals fed dosage by intragastric feeding for 7 days. Specific methods:it were given as: normal saline 0.3ml for control group, normal saline 0.3ml for model group, Jade Screen Powder 3ml for positive control group, high concentration in solution of APS 0.3ml for high-dose group, the concentration in solution of APS 0.3ml for medium-dose group, a low concentration in solution of APS 0.3ml low-dose group each day.4. Mensuration:After 7 days, it was time to observe the general conditions of animals, weight and take blood from back of eyeballs. The blood was kept into tubes which contained with anticoagulant 0.35% sodium citrate. After centrifugation, the plasma was tested for IL-la,IL-2 by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).To Taken the lung and leave lung homogenate from death animals, after using centrifuged, the supernatant pure liquid detectedβ-phylaxin 2 with ELISA method. To fix the right lung, the sections were covered by paraffin and colored by HE staining for observing the change of lung tissue structure. The Spleen were weighted and calculated the spleen index and for same to thymus to weight and calculate the thymus index.Results:1. After drug treatment for 7 days, the dose of APS groups, including low, medium and high-dose, compared with the model group. For mice, the symptoms of "Lung Qi Deficiency" improved (P< 0.01 or P< 0.05) significantly and the results showed dose-effect relationship.2. The dose of APS groups, including low, medium and high-dose showed lower lung index significantly than model group (P< 0.01 or P< 0.05). But the positive control group was not significant different (P< 0.05) with dose groups.3. The dose of APS groups, including low, medium and high-dose showed higher thymus index significantly than model group (P< 0.01 or P< 0.05). But the positive control group was not significant different (P< 0.05) with dose groups.4. In all of mice of the dose of APS groups, including low, medium and high-dose and the other groups, the spleen indexes of "Lung Qi Deficiency"-type were no significant difference (P< 0.05).5. Astragalus polysaccharides could increase serum IL-la, IL-2 on "Lung Qi Deficiency" syndrome mice, but could reduce P-phylaxin 2 of the supernatant pure liquid from lung tissue homogenate. It was showed that the APS had some regulation of immune effects for "Lung Qi Deficiency"-type mice.Conclusion:1. Astragalus polysaccharides have effects of replenishing Qi, curing cough to "Lung Qi Deficiency" syndrome mice.2. Astragalus polysaccharides can improve cellular immune function and increase immunity of body on "Lung Qi Deficiency"-type mice. In summary, The APS have some regulation of immune effects for "Lung Qi Deficiency"-type mice. It can also decrease respiratory weakness, cough and other symptoms caused by "Lung Qi Deficiency" of mice.
