The Bonding Of The Limited Verb "只" With "x"

The paper tries to explain the rule of bonding of limited verb"只"with "X" through discussing why"只"can bond with "X" while'"仅,光"cannot.The first chapter mainly introduced the original study and its development. After that, the significances of innovation and research are pointed out. The issues related to study field, main theories and arrangement of linguistic materials are given.The second chapter for the viewpoints of synchronic investigation were partitioned into three parts, including three planes of"只"and"只"X", and the comparisons between"只"and"仅,光"We concluded that there were no effects of glue of"只"X" on the restricted function of "只", and"只"is still the semantic center of the word when"只"X" glues together. In other hand, we discussed and analyzed that the"仅,光"are not as free and broad as"只""in the three planes.Chapter three mainly based on the previous study consists of four parts, such as the analysis the development of the limited adverb"只"the combination processes of"只"and "X",and the grammaticalization of""只"X" and its similarities, as well as the grammaticalization of"仅,光"Based on the authoritative dictionary "eight hundred modern Chinese words", the developed procedures and differences of five words are analyzed. Upon investigation, we give an indication that the generated time for"只"is much earlier than the generation of the restricted function of"仅,光"The semantic function of"仅"was changed for many times in historical applications. In order to give more examples, the tables for limited adverb were listed to verify such case. Moreover,"光"'is applied as a limited adverb in modern time.Chapter four aims to explain the causes and predict the future applications of the glue of"只"and "X" based on the former views, consisting three parts that include the motivations and mechanisms of the glue of"只"and "X" in the first part, explanation why the word"只"can be bonded with "X" while"仅,光"can never glue with"X", and some projections in third part. The society development and the shortage of single-tone and the love of double-good are very important factors to influence these adverb applications. In addition, the mental blocks, metaphor, re-analysis, subjectivity and subjective are very crucial for mechanical investigation. The root of formation, frequency, and conjunction of the limited adverb are explained by large amount of cases. An important conclusion that the intention and Liu verbs' fourth class for"只"have an significantly positive relation, which shows the enhancement capacity.
