With the year-on-year increase in the incidence of anxiety, there is an increasing emphasis on mental health. However, most of the anti-anxiety drugs are still chemicals. Because of the side effects of the chemicals, addiction and western cultural differences people reject using western medicine to treat anxiety disorders, so the search for Chinese medicine treatment with safer, simpler, fewer side effects and the better compliance has become an ideal choice to treat anxiety disorders.This thesis explores the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease from ancient Chinese medicine. It also summarizes the Chinese dialectical thinking, principles and prescription drug laws, acupuncture dialectical thinking, law of selecting points from 10 years anxiety-related part of the literature to explore Chinese medicine on the treatment of disorders. In order to check its scientific nature, feasibility, reliability the research chooses electro-acupuncture for fixed points. It illustrates through comparing the effectiveness of electro-acupuncture and the effectiveness of currently recommended anti-anxiety drug.The research adopts the method of prospective and randomized controlled clinical study design. Its target is all the stroke patients with the anxiety, from the in-patient clinic of acupuncture ward in Guang'anmen hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Science from March 2009 to January 2010. It generates the random number and the group by computer. It assigns randomly by envelope which hides the program. According to the number in the order and the number on the envelope, it opens squinty. According to the distribution plan within the envelope it is put into the groups:A group (electro-acupuncture treatment group) and B group (western medicine group). The course of the treatment is 4 weeks.Within the treatment group of 30 cases,2 cases lose.10 cases have significant progress.13 cases have a bigger process than before.5 cases are invalid. The effective rate is 76.67%. Within the controlled group of 30 cases,3 cases lose.7 cases have significant progress.15 cases have a bigger process than before.5 cases are invalid. The total effective rate is 73.33%. P=0.766. It shows that the treatment group and the controlled group have no significant differences by the analysis of SPSS 13.0.
