Chinese Gender Expression Type

Through careful comparison among different languages, we categorize gender expressing type of Chinese into the non-grammatical gender category, and divide it into naming type and classifying type.With a thorough discussion about the, gender expressing method of standard Chinese, we illustrate it in three types: A, expressing gender by naming; B, expressing gender by classification; C, intermediate state. The thesis consists of six cliapters.I. A generalization of the nature of the gender expressing method and the mark-related pattern of the gender expressing.By applying the mark theory and the statistics method this article tries to be both descriptive and illustrative, hi order to lenthen the knowledge scope, it employs dialect and minority nationality languages as proving material.
