Many polysemies in Japanese are basic verb. Their form is simple, but their meaning can be various and complex. At the same time, their polysemy make them much more complex to fully master.Cognitive linguistics focuses on studying the cognitive means implied in the language, and it provides us a new approach to analyze the lanuge features from a new perspective. The Core meaning Theory and the Prototype Category Theory in cognitive linguistic have been used to analyze the semantic features of polysemy. That is because they can well explain the causes that lead to the polysemy and the relations between their entries.In this paper, the basic polysemy"取る"and it's meaning and usage in compound polysematic verb are studied with Cognitive semantics meaning. Sematic frame through all entries of"取る"is established. Based on this frame, meaning and usage as"取り~"and'"~取る"'are systemically explained in compound verb. The paper combine those together based on a common semantics frame to clarify the method and relationship between them. It is beneficial for Japanese learner to improve their efficiency. Likewise, in the process of Japanese teaching, the mechanical teaching method should be abandoned. It should focus on relevancy of entries and put the polysemy into a fixed net framework to relieve the learner and help them to learn and apply Japanese in a better way.
