Ewenki is one of the few northern ethnic minorities in China, mainly distributed in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Nehe city of Heilongjiang province,Xinjiang and Russia. Ewenki Autonomous Banner in China is the largest area, where the Ewenki people adapt to the multicultural environment, and form a distinctive use of language. As the Ewenki youth are the main in heritors of the Ewenki language and culture, their language attitude and habits directly affect the development trend of the Ewenki language. The phenomenon, such as the weakening of the mother tongue use,the narrow scope of native language using ability, multilingual and popularizing of Chinese exists not only in Ewenki youth, also in other minority adolescents. So the investigation of how Ewenki young people use the Ewenki language can provide certain reference to other minority language study.This paper is based on field survey, investigating the present situation of adolescent’s language use in the Ewenki first experimental primary school, middle school, Hui Township Center School, Ewenki Yimin sappan Center School in the Ewenki Autonomous Banner and Hailar first middle school. Furthermore this paper uses the method of literature research, statistics, theory of interpretation of law to investigate the effect of native language maintain, language use and language shift phenomenon, as well as analyze the less populous ethnic language maintenance mode and try to explore the nonlinear characteristics of the language used in a new generation of youth with the chaos theory.The full text is divided into five chapters.The introduction explains the origin and significance of the topic. It summarizes the relevant research situation, explains the research methods used in this paper, and briefly introduces the research outline, process and the methods.The first chapter is focused on the school investigation, we took four schools in the Ewenki Autonomous Banner and primary and middle school students in Hailar First middle school as the research object. Then we divided those students into two groups in which they were taught in Mongolian and Chinese respectively. from the aspects of mother tongue maintenance and multilingual using, we analyzed the language using situation and attitudes towards language among the Ewenki students in primary and middle school. Therefore, we suppose that Ewenki people can maintain their mother tongue in multilingual using and cultivate their ability of using various languages because of multicultural environment. However, great differences still exist in using language when students are taught in Mongolian and Chinese respectively.The second chapter, under the Mongolian student’s family background, analyzes the characteristics of the language maintain and the native language maintain model. It also summarizes the critical factors of the young’s language maintenances, and makes a comprehensive analysis of multilingual using phenomenon from the macro and micro aspects.The third chapter, taking Chinese teaching class as the research object, discusses the current situation and the attitude of the use of language, and explains the reasons of language transfer according both external and internal elements.The fourth chapter, according to chaos theory, we analyzes the nonlinear characteristics of the adolescent language use, and discusses the Ewenki language resources.
