The working principle of the plate roller leveler is that a group of the upper and lower staggered arrangement working roller imposes on the metal plate , makes the plate multiple alternating positive and negative direction elastic-plastic bending deformation, so as to achieve the purpose of leveling plate. The working roller diameter and itself horizontal stiffness,the selection of the distance(intermesh) between the upper and lower working roller in the flattening process play a key role to the flattening precision.This paper studies on the YCW43-30×1800 roller leveler that it is produced by one factory through imitating the German production, has improved the design of working roller, the main research content as following:Through establishing roller-plate action mechanical model, the paper has calculated the reaction force that the plate acts on working roller. Basing on the research and considering synthetically the plate flattening curvature,roller surface contact strength,plate meshed condition and working roller bending stiffness, the paper determines the working roller diameter, and improves the working roller bending stiffness through setting up supporting roller.For the current situation that the determining of intermesh relies mainly on repeated experiments , according to the plate elastic-plastic blending deformation theory and working roller improved design program, the paper proposed the theoretical formula of intermesh for this model, and analyzes the influence of intermesh on the flattening quality through curve fitting methods.For the working roller improved design program, finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA is used to simulate the flattening process, and to test the effectiveness of the formula of intermesh. The simulation analysis result shows that the intermesh sued the paper theoretical formula can better meet the plate flattening precision requirement. At the same time, the prototype flattening experiments also indicates that the design program and intermesh calculation methods in the paper are feasible. The analysis and research conclusion not only can help the leveler manufacturers reduce product costs and improve equipment performance , but also is greater applied valuable to users to operate rationally machine and improve flattening precision.
