The double cylinder computerized hosiery machine is as a mechanical-electrical integration and highly intelligent modern knitting equipment; it can directly knit rib top and make the hosiery process automatic control. In recent years, along with new technology applications applied in the textile industry, textile machinery manufacturing enterprises have sprung up. Although the domestic double cylinder computerized hosiery machine research has made some gratifying achievements, product development model are only mainly in two ways: imitate, or get technical cooperation with foreign companies. Compared to advanced hosiery machine, on the aspects of stability of high-speed, level of technology and accuracy there are still gaps exists. Try to use the application of modem mechanical design, speed up own R&D design of double cylinder computerized hosiery machine, promote domestic production of business equipment upgrades, has a good practical significance.This paper presents the double cylinder computerized hosiery machine's structure and looping principle, introduced the key point's design and calculation of knitting process; Try to use finite element software (ANSYS/LS-DYNA) to make explicit dynamic analysis into loop mechanism, solved the calculation of complex mechanical state and get the optimum conditions of knitting. Finally, it makes an analysis about transient dynamic analysis of slider and double headed needle. To improve the loop mechanism's stability and reliability, it can optimize structure of the double head needle body. The main content and research results of the paper as follows:(1) Study domestic and abroad double cylinder computerized hosiery machine's looping mechanism; provide the accurately parameters to build the double cylinder computerized hosiery machine's finite element modeling.(2) Analyze the function of main cams of the looping mechanism and the different knitted trace of the double headed needle; Provide accurate technical parameters of the finite element modeling of loop mechanism.(3) Determine the important parameters in modeling process. Element is solid164, the material of double head needle and slider is isotropic elastic, mesh method is sweep, contact type is ASSC, contact penalty factor is 0.4 . Reasonable parameters ensure the successful completion of dynamic analysis.(4) Try to use ANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element software analyzing the dynamic elasticity of the double cylinder computerized hosiery machine. Get the graph of the displacement, velocity and acceleration in process of knitting cycle. And verify the results of the finite element dynamic analysis is consistent with theoretical analysis.(5) Finite element analysis of the elastic collision of the double head needle and the slider and ensure the stability of loop mechanism in high speed knitting cycle. According to the virtual prototype simulation analysis, optimization design of the mechanical structure to improve the double cylinder computerized hosiery machine's performance.Paper uses the finite element method to analyze double cylinder computerized hosiery machine's looping mechanism, especially obtained preferable research achievements in aspect of modeling the looping mechanism and the elastic collision of the double head needle. Research results provide the theoretical basis for domestic double cylinder computerized hosiery machine R&D.
