Objective: At the end of2011, there are780,000people living withHIV/AIDS in China, in which there are154000patients. And there are2418people living with HIV/AIDS in Hebei province, in which there are1185patients. For the development of prevention and control work in recent years,prevalence level of AIDS remains low in China. While prevalence level ofAIDS is high in some local area and in some specific population. At the sametime, general population is easier to be infected of HIV. HIV commonknowledge is getting to be accepted by public through development of healthpromotion project for HIV prevention and control. In China, more and moremedical staff faces the dangers of occupational exposure. HIV occupationalexposure is that medical staff, public security officers and judicial officialmaybe are infected of HIV in work place.The objective of the study is to find the present status includingknowledge of HIV, Knowledge of HIV/AIDS occupational exposure, attitudeto HIV/AIDS occupational exposure and behavior of occupational exposureand occupational protection on HIV/AIDS occupational exposure of medicalstaff in comprehensive grade III-a hospitals in Shijiazhuang city.Method: The study used quantitative and qualitative research method. Thewhole medical staff was interviewed by questionnaires designed by ourselves.The sample hospitals were including the first hospital, the second hospital, thethird hospital and the fourth hospital of Hebei Medical University, HebeiGeneral Hospital and the Shijiazhuang General Hospital. The departments ofthe study were including operation department, clinical laboratory, obstetricsand gynecology department, respiratory medicine department, dermatology&STD department, anorectic department.The data has been input into Excel, and analyzed by SPSS16.0. Results: There are6hospitals and36departments in the study,743medicalstaff was interviewed, and effective questionnaires are729(98.12%).The awareness rate of knowledge for HIV is94.92%. By X2test, nostatistical significance obtained in sexuality, age, professional tile, occupationand department. While in education level, statistical significance is obtained.(p<0.05).The awareness rate of knowledge for HIV occupational exposure is13.7%.By X~2test, no statistical significance obtained in age, sexuality, professionaltile, occupation, department and education level.Attitude to HIV occupational exposure: The tile about way on obtainingknowledge of HIV occupational exposure,489interviewers chose the lectures,and229interviewers chose Leaflets or net. The tile about demand after HIVoccupational exposure,588interviewers chose assessment from professionals,and296interviewers chose psychological assistance.Status on HIV/AIDS occupational exposure: In the last year,80.93%interviewers have a kind of occupational exposures which listed in thequestionnaire, and30.86%interviewers have two or more.Status on HIV/AIDS occupational protection: About HIV/AIDSoccupational protection,71.47%interviewers chose wearing disposable gloves,and28.40%interviewers chose wearing the protective glasses. Only16.87%interviewers chose all of the protective method which listed in thequestionnaire.Measure after HIV occupational exposure: Awareness rate of right measureafter occupational exposure is66.12%(482interviewers).Through X2test,statistical significance obtained in sexuality, department, accepting training.Conclusion: The awareness rate of knowledge of medical staff incomprehensive grade III-a hospitals in Shijiazhuang city for HIV is high, butthe awareness rate of knowledge for HIV occupational exposure is very low. Itis obvious that medical staff need much knowledge and measure afteroccupational exposure. The level of HIV occupational exposure is very high,while the level of HIV occupational protection is low. So the administrative department of public health and medical staff must pay attention tooccupational exposure and protection, strengthen the management and training,lower the level of HIV occupational exposure and raise the ability of HIVoccupational protection.
