Parametric design and finite element analysis on crosswedge rolling die of car driving axle active gearFor a long time, the long axis parts production technology have manykinds of processing technology,such as scraps, forging, extrusion,rolling and so on. The rolling technology of shaft parts is an axialplastic forming new technology.The characteristics of it is good quality,high efficiency, energy saving and saving material.These characteristicsmake it become The representative of the advanced manufacturingtechnology. Cross wedge rolling technology originated in the1960s. Ithas these advantages: high efficiency, energy saving, die life is high,easy to automatic control, So cross wedge rolling has been considered thecurrent production of an axis on the most advanced technological process.The main deformation of cross wedge rolling is neck compression and axialelongation. Cross wedge rolling can be divided into the roller of crosswedge rolling and plate cross wedge rolling. In the actual production ofthe most commonly used is double roller of cross wedge rolling mill.Driving axle active gear is the important power transmission partsin automobile chassis driving axle transmission system.Although drivingaxle active gears forming technology include extrusion, coldcontraction,and so on, forging is the main method. The main characteristicof forging is precise forging size, small machining allowance, highquality forgings. Through the analysis of the technology of all kinds offorging, we can know cross wedge rolling-top heading forming is the mosthigh quality, highly effective, the energy saving of the technologicalprocess.Metal plastic deformation process is a complex changes process. With the continuous development of advanced manufacturing technology, withonly design experience to design no longer feasible. The appearance ofsimulation software makes the computer simulation a wide range ofapplications. Because cross wedge rolling die very complex and its formingprocess is affected by Three dimensional deformation, processingsclerosis, temperature, friction and other aspects, Cross wedge rollingdie design and numerical simulation methods together become cross wedgerolling the important trend.Roller of cross wedge rolling mold is very complicated. A lot of workof modeling process are surface modeling. CATIA have the super surfacedesign module,and can build perfect cross wedge rolling die model. Butthe completion of design process need to mold parameters unceasingrevision, not only spend a lot of time and energy, and the engineeringpersonnel can’t concentrate on the optimization design of the mould.Parametric design to solve this difficult problem. CATIA has a strongparametric design function, using CATIA second development technology andVB programming software can the model of parameterized modeling.In this paper, before the major design and simulation, I studied thedriving gear drive axle and cross wedge rolling process relative knowledgethrough the research and literature inspection. I summarized the drivingaxle active gears and selectd which the forging method the optimum process,and understanded the cross wedge rolling rolling rolling the basicprinciple, principle, mould design’s principle, basic parameters todetermine the knowledge. Finally I selected Cross wedge rolling.topheading forming as the forming process method, selected H800fission crosswedge rolling mill as equipment,and preliminary designed and calculatedthe driving axle active gear cross wedge rolling die.The important chapters of this paper is parametric design of crosswedge rolling die. Considering the die design and optimization is a complicated process, The parametric design can save a lot of time andenergy. This paper using CATIA second development technology and VBprogramming technology to realize the driving axle active gear cross wedgerolling die of parameterized modeling, greatly improving the die designcycle and optimization efficiency.The driving gear drive axle of billet simulation cross wedge rollingrolling process, not only check and optimizing mold, but also profoundunderstand cross wedge rolling forming process. Before this, I firstlearned DEFORN.3D software. The ultimate success of simulation need toconstantly change of design parameters and the former processing Settings.Finally, I analyzed the stress and strain about different stages ofdifferent position of cross wedge rolling forming, the whole of the metalflow and the process of deformation.This article basically completed the die design and optimization, andhas obtained the good simulation results. Mould parametric design providea feasible way to other typical shaft parts.
