Cross wedge rolling is a new forming process of shaft component forming. It has a high energy efficiency, high production efficiency, low production cost, saving material, forming high quality, etc. It received extensive attention from inception. In the current, cross wedge rolling have been widely used in machining fields. The research of cross wedge rolling technology focused on the ladder shaft parts. The studies of process, shaping, internal defects of large section shrinkage of non-symmetric cross wedge rolling are relatively few.This paper based on the studies of cross wedge rolling in the current stage designed the mold of cross wedge rolling. Drew the model by CATIA software. Simulated the non-symmetric solid that has a groove in the tail and the large section shrinkage by DEFORM-3D finite element analysis software. The Analysis of the effective stress, axial stress, effective strain in axial cross-section rolling process and the tangential stress in central cross-section during cross wedge rolling. The variation of rolling force in three direction during cross wedge rolling. In the other same premise, analyzed the loads and rolling central temperature in different temperature and roll speed. The analysis of the velocity in central cross section during the cross wedge rolling and overall component’s velocity at a time. Studied the three points’ displacement in central cross section by tracking point function. The analysis of the tracking points’ tangential stress and mean stress in the cross wedge rolling identified the area the cracks occurred.Processed, assembled, adjusted the mold and then conducted a cross-wedge rolling. After obtained good surface forming, had a microstructure detection in the component. The study of internal defects verified the region the cracks happened. The experiment confirm that the inner of the piece has a 1mm crack in 680 degree temperature. Provided two measures to eliminate the inner defect. Reduced the initial temperature and reduced the rolling speed.
