Tray column is one of the important separation equipment in petrochemical industry. Recently, In order to adapt to the industrial production requirements, the developing of tray with superior integrative performance has become the key issue to the development of the tray column. The new multi-way bubbling diversion float valves introduce in this paper was designed basis on the original3D strip float valve. It realizes a stratified multi-dimensional drum bubble of three-dimensional mass transfer process, While improving the mass transfer efficiency. This paper investigating the hydrodynamics and mass transfer properties of the new multi-way bubbling diversion float valves(NMBD) in the self-developed multi-function tower.Firstly, the hydraulic performance was investigated based on index of plate pressure-drop, entrainment, weeping through the air-water system. The different experimental conditions performance parameters were obtained by changing the export weir height, liquid flow intensity and the valve hole F-factor(kinetic energy factor. Discussed the change rule between the various performance parameters and valve hole F-factor, liquid flow intensity, weir height, then obtained the correlations. Secondly, the mass transfer efficiency of new multi-way bubbling diversion float valves was determined by carbon dioxide desorption experiment under the cold model experimental conditions. In experiment the liquid concentration of CO2determination with acid-base titration. At the same time the mass transfer efficiency model also was forecasted in this paper. Finally, compared with the experimental results between the NMBD and3D90tray, which obtained from the same experimental operating conditions. The results showed that the dry tray pressure drop of NMBD is in directly square proportion to the plate hole kinetic energy factor. The wet tray pressure drop is increased with increasing kinetic energy factor in plate hole, liquid flow rate and weir height. The entrainment rate is increased with increasing kinetic energy factor in plate hole and liquid flow rate, but with the increase of the weir height and decrease. With the increasing liquid flow rate and weir height the liquid weeping rate is increased. The average mass transfer efficiency is higher than80%.Despite the total tray pressure drop of NMBD is Slightly higher than3D90tray, but the entrainment rate and the liquid weeping rate are all lower than3D90tray obviously. And the Mass transfer efficiency of NMBD was increased about20%.
