This thesis consists of three parts. The first part is the second chapter. It describes thephonological features of the Lianzhou dialects in Changle,Shikang,Lianzhou,Wujia andXichang, which located in Hepu county and then sumarizes the phonetic characteristics ofLianzhou dialect,on the synchronic level, by using the theory and method of experimentalphonology. The second part is the third chapter. It compares and describes the phonological features ofthe Lianzhou dialect, from a diachronic perspective,by mainly using the theory and method ofhistorical linguistics. The dialects of five investigation points have significant consistency, andtheir differences mainly embodies in the finals. The third part includes the fourth, fifth and sixth chapters. They are all monographic studies. In this part, by combining the experimental phonetics and historical linguistics, it describes andanalyses three phonetic phenomena of Lianzhou dialect. Firstly, the fourth chapter studies theimplosives [],[] and the frontier affricate [t]. All of the five investigation points have thebilabial-implosive []. Lianzhou, Shikang, and Changle dialects have the apical-implosive [].They are primarily from mid-ancient Bangmu and Duanmu. The frontier affricate [t] and thelateral-fricative [] belong to the same phoneme in Lianzhou dialect, and they mainly frommid-ancient Xinmu and a small number of them from mid-ancient Xiemu and Shengmu. Thecause of formation about the implosives and the lateral-fricative may be concerned withlanguage contact. Secondly, the fifth chapter studies the phonemic contrast between the/a/andthe//. All of the five investigation points have this phenomenon, and the essence of this contrastis the differences between the duration and acoustic. Finally, the sixth chapter studies the Bianrutone(变入调).The initials of the characters which have Bianru tone(变入调)are mainly fromthe mid-ancient voiceless initials and partly from the mid-ancient secondary voiced initials.Thefinals are mainly from the mid-ancient Xianshe('摄), Shanshe(山摄), Dangshe(宕摄),Jiangshe(江摄), and Gengshe(梗摄), and the main vowels are [a],[]/[],[e]. The Bianrutone(变入调)is the longest in the three Rusheng tones(入声调).
