Since the reform and opening up, China’s sports system and development mode hasbeen undergoing a subtle but fundamental shift, but in recent years, there is noqualitative change in the overall level of women’s football in China. The currentdiversified development model of sports schools, football schools, amateur clubs andothers have failed to promote a qualitative leap in the level of women’s football inChina. No final conclusion has yet been reached on how to establish an effectiveback-up personnel training system in practice as well as in theory, but it is certain thatthe back-up personnel training for young girls’ football is in lack of popularization.In2009, the General Administration of Sport and the Ministry of Educationlaunched the nationwide activities of “Campus Football”. The senior leaders of theFootball Association made it clear to intensify the development of campus football.Since then, campus football has developed with the provinces and municipalitiesattaching importance to football. In November,2012, Jiangsu Province officiallylaunched the youth campus football activities, the layout of which covers all the districtcities, providing a platform for the flourishing of the campus football in JiangsuProvince and promoting the development of youth football in the cities.。Through research on the current situation of women’s football in middle schoolswith traditional sports in Jiangsu Province, this paper explores the factors that affect thepopularization and development of women’s football, aiming to find countermeasures topromote the development of women’s football in middle schools with traditional sports, and provide theoretical referential basis and suggestions for the development ofwomen’s football in Jiangsu Province. The methodology of this paper includes literature, questionnaire, mathematicalstatistics, logical analysis, and other methods. By collecting and organizing the data of the amateur training mode, athletes, and coaches of women’s football in middle schoolswith traditional sports in Jiangsu Province, the present study draws the flowingconclusion:Currently under the impetus of the campus football activities and competitions, girlsin middle schools with traditional sports in Jiangsu Province are interested in the sportof football and concerned about football information. The majority of the students aresubjectively willing to participate in playing football and are relatively rationalized intheir motivation. Most middle schools with traditional sports in Jiangsu Province are equipped withvenue facilities, having the basic conditions to carry out the football activities. The lackof football grounds and equipments as well as insufficient input of fund has become themain factors that constrain the development of women’s football in these schools. The participation and support of the managing personnel of middle schools withtraditional sports in Jiangsu Province in conducting women’s football activities hasreached to a favorable degree, yet there are still schools not paying enough attention tofootball contest and training.Influenced by conservative traditional thinking, some parents place too muchemphasis on academic lessons without a deep recognition of the value of women’sfootball, leading to a small number of female players engaged in football training. Theage structure of the coaches in middle schools with traditional sports in JiangsuProvince is reasonable. They all have some coaching experience, but do not have highlevels of education and advanced professional titles. Neither do they have strongprofessional ability in coaching football, nor do they have the opportunities to systemicretaining and mutual exchange. In the light of the present situation of women’s football in middle schools withtraditional sports in Jiangsu Province, this study proposes the followingcountermeasures: Strengthen and improve the degree of social concern school women’s footballmedia, and looking towards the future without seeking instant success; relevantfunctional departments should attach importance to the launching of school footballsports; building up a sound backup talents cultivating and transporting system; improving the effect of the “Combination” mode; strengthening the construction ofcoach troop; establishing a guarantee mechanism for athletes’ employment.
