The Titanium sponge is one spongy structure of titanium, which is the only key component of titanium and titanium alloys. This unique raw material is widely used in the industry area such as aerospace, chemical, vessels, ect. and has occupied an extremely important position in the metal industry. However, as the Titanium sponge has a special nature of hardness and toughness, it has always been a very difficult work to crush this material, which is also a huge challenge for the performance of the crusher. In this case, as the main crusher which is working in harsh environment and long duration mining, the Sheared Single Roll crusher(hereinafter referred to as SSR crusher) appears many short-comings:Firstly, the SSR crusher has a short life since it had seriously abrasion; Secondly, SSR crusher has a wide crush length which resulted in low efficiency and broken particle size is not uniform. Therefore, it is significant to optimize the structure of SSR crusher to improve the performance, efficiency and lifetime of the crusher. Aiming at these problems, this article has a deep Analysis and design on the key structure of SSR crusher after the basic theory of SSR crusher being introduced. The specific works are as follows:The crushing model of crusher roll has been established, the main force of crusher roll has been analyzed and the size of tangential force of crusher roll has been calculated.The3D geometric model of crusher roll was built and the stress analysis has been done by using ANSYS finite element analysis software. After that,the stress distribution and maximum deformation has been understand, which showed that the maximum force occurred at the tooth edge position. Also,the modal analysis on roll helped to analyze whether the roll would be destructed or not by resonance.After using the finite element method to have a parametric structure optimization on SSR crusher roll, the greatest stress roll suffered was reduced, which improved its mechanical properties.Finally, the fixed jaw structure of crusher was been optimized and a new crushing structure was designed,which effectively increased the crushing ratio, improved crushing efficiency, ensured the uniformity of crushing granularity as well.
