The molding sand performance test methods based on traditional detection unable tomeet the development of modern casting production needs more demanding and practicalproduction put forward by the detection and command of sand properties. So developing asand mechanics performance tester with scientific testing method and complete functioncan quickly, accurately and comprehensively reveal the characteristics of molding sandparameters and evaluate the quality of molding sand have important significance test ofmolding sand.In the paper, the goal is design a tester to collect sand related parameters in theprocess of stress. On the basis of the software and hardware principle of data acquisitionand programming technology of LabVIEW, make the system hardware and softwaredesign of single-chip microcomputer as the core processor, and software design of the PCmonitoring interface, realize a tester molding sand mechanical the performance test systemwith data acquisition, real-time display and storage function.This paper firstly introduces the principle of data acquisition system and virtualinstrument test; the second is given based on AVR MCU as the processor, combined withthe hardware circuit and software design of the motor drive module, data acquisitionmodule and serial data communication module, motor driver module driven loading sandwith reversible motor, data acquisition module uses TLC2543DAC acquisition of sandstress and strain data in the process of stress, serial data communication module receives aPC to send commands to control the lower computer carries out the correspondingoperation and real-time transmission of two channels of data; and then design PCmonitoring software interface design and database system, PC monitor interface controlmachine loading on the sand, and received the crew sent stress and strain data real-timedisplay dynamic curve. At the completion of data acquisition, application of databasestorage, query and analysis of the collected data work. Database management technology in the LabVIEW environment, the database access technology, the basic operation ofdatabase in Access. Finally, the experiments on the designed system. The experimentalresults show that, the system has realized the real-time acquisition and display of moldingsand properties and data on the acquisition of the basic database functionality.
