Along China’s rapid economic development, the world’s great demand for Chinese-speaking talents,attracting more and more foreigners to learn Chinese. In order to facilitate Chinese learning and thepromotion of Chinese culture, a series of activities are organized by Han Ban and Confucius Institute topromote Chinese language to the world. We have all kinds of activities and methods in teachings, and madegreat successes. but there are still some problems for us to solve. For example, listening is a big problem tomany teachers and students. So here are the Chinese songs.It has been over30years since the preliminary setting of the listening class in teaching Chinese as aforeign language in the early1980s. Our TCSL educators make research of listening teaching from variedangles, but the teaching effect is still unsatisfactory and so is the listening comprehension of the students.Moreover, the current situation of listening teaching is a major concern. With the rapid development of thesociety and technology, the ways of learning language have become diversified. In the environment ofusing multimedia teaching, songs are not only teaching medium but also materials and content of courses.It is showed by the study of experimental psychology that the audio-visual multichannel input is anefficient way of learning language. the listening lesson type has changed in some colleges and universitiesin teaching Chinese as a foreign language. All these suggest that the songs can provide a new world forlistening teaching.Studying by the modern listening teaching, we find that there are still some problems for us toslove.This paper shows feasibility and advantages that the Chinese songs can provide for listening teachingthrough the researching of current TCSL situations. Combining theory and practice, I find that the mostimportant thing is how to choose songs whether the Chinese songs can be well used in listening teaching ornot. So I summarize the factors and problems for choosing Chinese songs, including how to reflect ourChinese culture, appropriate difficulty, and the Practicality. Moreover, we should take Pronunciation,Pragmatic and the effects of pop stars. Also providing how to choose songs for listening courses. At last, Imake a detailed design to show that how the use of Chinese songs optimize the teaching effect, in order tomake full use of the Chinese songs, reform the listening teaching mode and teach through lively activities.
