Construction Of Rural Doctors In Remote Areas

In China, besides bring basic medical services to vast peasantry, the rural doctors who are the first line of defense for peasant’s health also take the public health service. For decades, the rural doctors devote their whole life to rural sanitation enterprise by using practical and cheap treatment technology to relieve vast peasantry of their diseases and make graven contribution for protecting vast peasantry’s health in China.With the reform of China’s rural medical and health system and the development of new rural cooperatives medical service, the rural doctor’s income structure takes a great change. Their initiative has been bruised seriously due to the decrease of income, the lack of governmental grants, no basic social insurance, and the lack of sense of belonging and identity. According to the statistics from Chinese Rural Health Association, the current number of China’s rural doctors has reduced from3.5million to0.8million. Some young rural doctors has changed their profession, the others take seeing a patient as a part-time job. The elder rural doctors also lose faith in the future. Fault situation has been arisen in the rural medical team and the bottom of Three tier Health Care Network is facing the collapse. The current team development of the rural doctors cannot adapt the development of basic medical service demand. Therefore, strengthen the team construction of rural doctors is extremely urgent.The rural doctor team in Dahe Town and Gaoqiao Village of Nanjiang County is aging, with poor quality and lack of successors. There are seven prominent problems need to be solved urgently.No.1, the low scale and low standard of service; No.2, team aging and lack of successors; No.3, low degree of education and practice; No.4, low income; No.5, without identity; No.6, low insured rate; No.7lack of targeted training. In order to solve these problems, we need to look at the long-term development of the rural medical and health care in remote areas in China. Combining to the reality of Dahe Town and Gaoqiao Village of Nanjiang County, here are some suggestions on strengthen the team construction of rural doctors. No.1, to strengthen the construction of rural doctors in remote area; No.2, advance with the capacity of this elastic degree education; No.3, set up a separate rural doctor medical examination system; No.4, guarantee reasonable income of rural doctors; No.5, clear positioning rural doctor; No.6, meet the rural doctors pension problem; No.7, explore the rural doctors on-the-job training mode.This article is based on public selection theory, two factor theory and Maslow-Need-hierarchy theory, which has the general collection on basic present situation, national and local policy of the surveyed area rural doctor team through a large number of literature reading and the broader research community by using the method of combining qualitative and quantitative research. It propounds some pointed measures on the open question of the rural tem development in Dahe Town and Gaoqiao Village of Nanjiang County. It is benefit to promote the rural doctor team in Dahe Town and Gaoqiao Village of Nanjiang County and even in remote areas of the country develop stably and healthily.
