In recent years, Xinjiang local documentaries develop rapidly, and have a major impact both at home and abroad, especially the documentaries created by Xinjiang television stations. Unique style and personality creation are distinctive features of the Xinjiang TV documentaries, and the selection point of view, the production style, and narrative structure are all unique. Because of its special geographical features and cultural characteristics, the Xinjiang TV documentaries have highly recognizable distinctive style, and their performance and profound themes become one of the highlights of the television documentary. However, combing as well as research of the documentaries produced by Xinjiang TV in the academic community have not been perfect, so that this article contributes to comprehensively and systematically combing of the development of the documentary clues and pulse, analyzing of a typical documentary works, summing up the narrative art and diverse style, and giving personal views of the inadequate, to provide a reference for the development and research of the Xinjiang documentaries.In the Introduction section, the empirical of the Xinjiang TV documentaries’ activity in the industry was introduced, pointing out that the lack of current theoretical areas of Xinjiang Documentaries research.The first chapter introduced the Xinjiang TV documentary development path, and this chapter is divided into four parts, with an overview of the course of development of the Xinjiang TV documentary and stage Creation Trend:1973to the1990s, the development of Xinjiang television documentary came into beginning part of creation; in1990s came into the prosperity stage of creation of the documentary:toward the mature period of the Chinese Documentary; fully into the era of boutique documentary. Summing of the entire history of the development, the creators have experienced from the subjective intervention, subjective and objective creative method intertwined, and finally to the objective narrative-driven narrative.The second chapter researches the Xinjiang television documentary narrative art, using analyzes of the documentary narrative, narrative analysis. This chapter uses the case study method, citing a documentary, individually analyze and deconstruction, aiming at refining the in Xinjiang Documentary unique creation narrative features. Chapter Three explores the diversity of Xinjiang TV documentary style, analyzing the style and diversification of the documentary from Western Regions and diverse types, with a detailed study of the style of the specific of multiple images of the winning entries. Furthermore, classification was done of works on the creation of Xinjiang TV over the years in accordance with the contents and themes.The fourth chapter discusses the problems in current topics, creation and positioning of Xinjiang TV documentaries, put forward constructive suggestions and the problems in the creation of the prospects for development.At the end part, the Xinjiang television documentary unique style and the significance of studying the Xinjiang local documentary were explained, trying to provide "initiate" suggestions for documentary creators and researchers.
