Social Work Intervention In The Special Work Of Veterans

As an important part of social work system in China, special care means thework in the field of preferential treatment, which aims to apply knowledge, kills,attitudes and values to this kind of work. At present, the studies of special care arerelatively insufficient in China. This paper focuses on restoring the project of “Gloryyears, veterans legend” to analyze the work of special care in community and explorethe development methods under the background of social transformation.Firstly, It briefly expounds the background and the topic of the research, definesthe main concepts of special care, summarizes the domestic and overseas presentresearch situation，introduces the research methods, the place of innovation and theresearch route in this paper. Then it presents the basic situation of professional socialworkers’ participation in the work of special care, mainly including the basic state ofveterans, traditional ways of special care and its open questions. Besides, it alsostudies the feasibilities of social workers’ intervention in the special care of veterans.Followed by the analysis the demands of veterans at first, and then identifies the targetof special care of veterans and carries out the specific activities according to the resultof demand analysis. Lastly, it accesses the effect of social work in veterans andsummarizes all the problems encountered in the process of social work intervention.The main purpose of this paper is to study the socialization of veterans’ specialcare through the project of “Glory years, veterans legend”, thus offering experiencefor reference to the development and perfection of China’s work of veterans’ specialcare, and providing a train of thought for the implementation of socialization ofveterans’ special care.
