The revised Ethic Standards for Secondary&Primary School Teachers waspromulgated in2008, which is of great importance to the construction of teachers’professional ethics. Adopting relevant theories and referring to the achievements madeby Chinese and foreign scholars, this essay is an investigation and analysis on theprofessional ethic situation of teachers in J District, S City, a place with rich ChaoShanculture. Reflecting relevant theories and achievements in pedagogy, sociology andpsychology, the research not only focuses on how to combine the special traditionalculture in Chaoshan area, especially the respect for teachers and teaching, but tries to putforward construction strategies in accordance with the current circumstances of J District,referring to the experience in the construction of teachers’ professional ethics in the pastand at present, especially that in developed countries. As is shown in the research, withsatisfaction, students as well as parents speak highly of the professional ethics of teachersin J District. However, there exist some worrying problems that directly affect the imageof teachers in J District together with the development of education. The author breaksthe limit of general and abstract theories in the past and comes up with constructionstrategies suitable for J District, S City, connecting with special traditional culture inChaoShan area. This research paper proposes some ideas and suggestions on theprofessional ethics construction of J District in order that the Standards can be put intopractice so as to improve the effectiveness and pertinence of the construction of teachers’professional ethics. Therefore, the comprehensive qualities of teachers, especially theirenthusiasm, initiative and creativity, can be greatly improved so that they can make bettercontributions to the development of the education of J District and even our country.
