This paper summarizes the present situation of waste tire recycling industry, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of some main recycling methods at home and abroad. Pyrolysis is a kind of waste tire recycling technology which has a very good development prospects. This paper discusses the advantages of microwave pyrolysis as a new pyrolysis technology: high heating efficiency, good uniformity, energy saving, precise control of pyrolysis conditions, high product quality, no pollution and so on.According to the current situation of the development of microwave pyrolysis technology and problems to be solved. The author designed an experimental furnace for microwave pyrolysis of waste tires, it can pyrolysis the waste tire through microwave emitter arranged around the box, waste tire pyrolysis to carbon black, oil and gas. Innovation of the experimental furnace are: pyrolysis the whole tire, do not need to be crushed the tire into powder, so it can reduces the process and cost; pyrolysis conditions can be precise control, so it can improve product quality; pyrolysis temperature was reduced by using microwave characteristics; pyrolysis under the nitrogen environment to avoid the oxidation side reaction and so on.This paper includes the thermal structure coupling simulation of the pyrolysis furnace based on ANSYS. Obtained the stress, strain and strain energy of the parts of the waste tire pyrolysis furnace under the conditions of temperature and radiation. Through analysis, the strength of the pyrolysis furnace meets the design requirements and can work under high temperature, pressure and no oxygen.This paper includes the electromagnetics simulation of pyrolysis furnace cavity based on HFSS. According to the simulation results, the conclusion is: The temperature field distribution is better when the tire is placed in the center, hot spots appear on the box when the tire is placed on the bottom of the cavity or the size of the tire increases.The experiment was carried out by using the experimental furnace, investigate several key parameters on the pyrolysis of waste tires and got valuable results: The size of tire has an effect on the pyrolysis under the same circumstances, the pyrolysis rate, pyrolysis degree, product quality of big tire are better than them of small tire. The pyrolysis of rubber block with steel wire has faster heating rate, more oil and gas production, higher pyrolysis degree than the pyrolysis of rubber block without steel wire.The analysis also shows some weak points of the furnace: edge of the roof, connection of mirror and the door, bottom of the furnace cavity, the corresponding improvement schemes are proposed in this paper.
