The Investigation On Recognition Of Graded Nursing And The Influencing Factors Among Nursing Assistants In Elder Homes

Objective: By investigating the recognition of the graded nursingamong the nursing assistants in the institutions, analysis the existingproblems and put forward the improvement measures, aim at helping theinstitutions to standard the nursing assistants’ service, making it morescientific and more particular, so as to improvement the satisfaction of thenursing assistants’ service to the elderly.Methods: Agreed by the authors named Lu Huifang, we use thedesigned questionnaire named “the recognition of the graded nursing forthe nursing assistants”, this questionnaire was once used in Guangzhou,which has confirmed the good reliability and validity, in which it concludes(1) The general situation, including gender, age, working years, culturedegree, the training of the theory and operation, salary and the workload,etc;(2) The recognition of the graded nursing for the nursing assistants,including the recognition of the specific projects about the graded nursing,the necessity and the importance of the graded nursing, the professionalvalues of the nursing assistants working on the graded nursing, thepsychological experience about the graded nursing, it has a total of4aspects and10items. According to the degree of the recognition, each itemis divided into five levels respectively, from2to10, the total score is100.Ifthe nursing assistants choose the “agree” or “strongly agree”, we keep the record of “recognition”, otherwise the opposite.Results: Investigate the116nursing assistants in Chongqing’sinstitutions, the results shows:1.(1)The level of the graded nursing, recognition30(25.7%),nonrecognition86(74.3%);(2)The graded nursing is based on theability of the daily life and their needs, recognition37(31.7%),nonrecognition79(68.3%);(3)The nursing assistants should be responsiblefor the graded nursing, recognition88(75.5%), nonrecognition28(24.5%);(4)Mastering the knowledge of graded nursing is part of theirwork, recognition36(31.3%), nonrecogniton80(68.7%);(5)The quality ofthe graded nursing influence the comfort and recovery of the elderly,recognition31(26.9%), nonrecognition85(73.1%);(6)Mastering the gradednursing should apply the professional knowledge and skills, recognition36(31.1%), nonrecognition80(68.9%);(7)Mastering the graded nursing canavail the patients’ observation, recognition48(41.8%), nonrecogniton68(58.2%);(8)The willingness to study on the graded nursing, recognition49(42.1%), unrecognition67(57.9%);(9)Mastering the graded nursing canhelp to built the nursing assistants’ image, recognition27(23.2%),nonrecognition89(76.8%);(10)Mastering the graded nursing can reflecttheir professional work, recognition14(11.7%), nonrecognition102(88.3%).2.The score of the recognition of the graded nursing:(1)The score ofthe specific items about the graded nursing=10.12±2.12;(2)The score ofthe importance about the graded nursing=18.26±1.50;(3)The score of theprofessional value about the graded nursing=15.34±1.45;(4)The score ofthe psychological experience about the graded nursing=12.36±2.36;(5)Thetotal score about the graded nursing=53.08±3.55.3.There is relationship between the total score of the graded nursing and the influence factors by the regression analysis, it shows the result:(1)the training of the theory and operation (b=0.563, b of95%CI=0.543~0.083, b ’=0.164, t=68.637, P <0.01);(2) the salary (b=0.519, b of95%CI=0.492~0.546b, b ’=0.158, t=57.227, P <0.01);(3) the nursingworkload (b=-0.436, b of95%CI=-0.398~-0.474b, b ’=-0.101, t=22.327, P <0.01).Conclusions：The recognition of the graded nursing is insufficient, weshould enhance the role of the nursing assistants, strengthen the theory andthe practice training, improve their welfare benefits and salary, as well asequip them the reasonable workload, so as to improve the recognition ofthe graded nursing,ensure the quality of their service and increase thesatisfaction of the elderly.
