Self-harmony, a concept of positive psychology, has been paid more and more attention to by theresearchers in recent years. It refers to a dynamic equilibrium process in which the individual achieves theconsistency in real me and ideal me through self-regulation in the process of social adaptation, thus realizesharmony and unity in self and social environment. With the development of society, college students facehuge competition and pressure from their studies and employment, which renders them under a lot ofmental health threat, so self-harmony state of college directly affects their development. Therefore, toexplore the role of self-harmony social adaptation of college students and its influencing factors haveimportant theoretical and practical significance.In this study, use Emotional Intelligence Scale, Self-harmony Scale and college social adaptationquestionnaire on515college students conducted a questionnaire survey, to explore emotional intelligence,self-harmony and relationship among social adaptation. This study reaches the following conclusions:(1) in terms of self-harmony’s whole and part dimensions, there are significant differences in thecollege students’ majors, enrollment locations, and grades, while indistinctive differences in genders, familystructures, whether they are the only child or serve as the class leader.(2) there are remarkable correlations between any two of emotional intelligence, self-harmonyand social adaptation.(3) disharmony between self and experience, flexibility, rigidity, i.e. three dimensions ofself-harmony, play a partial intermediary role in college students’ emotional intelligence and socialadaptation, which shows that emotional intelligence has an impact on social adaptation through selfharmonious.
