This report is based on the translation practice of Climate Change: Evidence, Impacts and Choices published by the National Academies Press. This booklet is intended to help people understand what is known about climate change. It lays out the evidence that human activities are responsible for much of the warming and related changes being observed around the world, explains some impacts expected in this century and beyond, and examines how science can help inform choices about managing and reducing the risks posed by climate change. This report consists of five main parts: The first part deals with the background and significance of the project. The second part is a brief introduction to the authors and the main content of the source text. The third part introduces some difficulties in the translation project, including difficulties in translating the text and other difficulties. The fourth part discusses Reiss’ s text typology and methods used in translating the text, such as equivalent translation, literal translation, division, translation in reverse order, and conversion in voice. The fifth part concludes the lessons and enlightenment from the translation project and some problems to be solved.
