| This is a translation project report on Chapter Six of Reason in a Dark Time: Why the Struggle Against Climate Change Failed- And What It Means for Our Future. It mainly discusses the relationship between climate change and humanity from environmental ethic perspective. Climate change marked by global warming has brought many side effects for the humanity and for the natural system, and in the future it will continue to pose a threat to the fate of mankind. Facing failures against climate change, how people can live meaningfully becomes an imperative that nobody should neglect. According to Peter Newmark’s division for text type, the target text belongs to informative type. The translator takes communicative translation strategy to guide the whole project. Translation difficulties and various translations methods are fully explained in this project to ensure a high quality of the final translation. Report consists of four parts. The first part is introduction. The second part is the analysis of the source text. The third part includes translation difficulties and methods, which plays a significant role in the translation project. Last part is conclusion for the whole report. |
