Three Preludes is the only works of Gershwin created only for piano, which is created in the period of his complete maturity in personal style. The melody is clear and bright and rhythm is lively, which is very popular among players. There three preludes is branded with label of Gershwin with classical Jazz style in both musical form and melodic rhythm. Jazz is the production of combination between African culture and American culture and later becomes the mainstream of popular music in America. Gershwin plays an important role in the development of jazz, which brings the jazz element of popular music to classical music and promotes it to the stage of professional music.
