The Fake Discrimination Of Bada Shanren’s "The Painting Of Swimming Fish" Auctioned By Beijing Qindao Rongde International Auction

The paintings of flowers and birds of Bada Shanren are various,involving themes such as flowers,still life,fish,birds,vegetables and fruits,rocks,birds,etc.Among them,the works with fish as the theme are popular with the world because of their unique style characteristics and emotional sustenance,so they belong to their famous works,which are mixed with good and bad,to distinguish the authenticity of the works.In 2011,Beijing Qindao Rongde International Auction Co.,Ltd.auctioned the Bada Shanren’s "The Painting of Swimming Fish" with the title of "Eight Mountain People" and the seal of "Eight Return" in the vertical rectangular vermilion.The recorded text: "There is a sign of water in the golden sky,and the golden horse is sent to Nanzhou.The thousand leaves and the double sun are flying,and the ten thousand flow in the Zhangtai.Everyone is our brother,for the Buddha’s Spring and Autumn Festival.We can comfort the remote gods,and give it to the seagulls today." After identification,this work is a forgery,based on the following:First,from the perspective of the fish’s pen and ink in "The Painting of Swimming Fish",the painter in this painting lacks the control of the pen.The lines of the fish in the painting are stiff and clumsy,lack of flexibility,and have no changes in thickness,size,virtual or real,and even have broken lines at the belly of the fish;In the application of ink color,the proportion of ink and water in the film "The Painting of Fish" is out of balance,the ink color is dark and unchanged,just like a paste.Among the fish works in the authentic works of Bada Shanren,the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China has a perfect control over the lines and ink color.The lines are flexible and full of changes.The wet pen is faint with ink,and the dry pen is thick with ink.The layers are rich and clear.The combination of dryness and wetness and the combination of virtuality and reality are vividly displayed.However,the counterfeiters can easily reveal their true colors because of their control over pen and ink,which cannot be matched with those of the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China.Secondly,from the image of fish in "The Painting of Swimming Fish",the fish in this painting is seriously inconsistent with the actual image of fish.First,no fish mouth,many whiskers,no eye structure;Second,the ratio of gill and tail is out of balance;Third,fish belly does not conform to reality;Fourth,the perspective is chaotic.To sum up,the overall image of the fish in this auction has nothing to do with the image characteristics of the fish made by the Eighth National Congress.Third,from the inscriptions,inscriptions and seals in "The Painting of Swimming Fish",the strokes in the inscriptions of the painting are single and deliberate,and the strokes are chaotic;The words "mountains" and "people" of "Bada Shanren" in the title are not broken,forming a "zigzag" shape,which is inconsistent with the title of the original work of Bada Shanren in 1702;The seal in the auction picture is thin and long.The gap of the seal is at the top left,top left,bottom left,and bottom four corners.The "eight" in the seal is strong in an arc,like the writing method of "er" in modern official script.The upper part of the "huan" is also round like the pig nose in the picture,and the lower part is in the shape of "m".All of these are different from the "eight return" seal of Bada Shanren in the record.In summary,it is determined that the artwork "The Painting of Swimming Fish" by the Bada Shanren is a fake painting.
