Pronunciation is the basis of learning a foreign language. Chinese learners native language and Chinese language teachers’ teaching methods will affect the learners’ pronunciation.Because Burundian language environment is complex,so Burundian students learning Chinese is vulnerable to be influence by mother tongue Kirundi and official language French.There will be more problems in the process of learning Chinese pronunciation.This thesis investigates Burundian students’ Chinese pronunciation using listening test and recording test.Test results show that in the whole learning process,Burundian students initials error mainly focused on the dental,blade-palatal and dorsal; Vowels errors mainly focused on the nasal vowels; Tones errors mainly focused on the second tone and fourth tone.The pitch of the second tone and fourth tone always is below the correct pitch.The author analyzed those errors based on the Inter-language Theory,Contrastive Analysis theory and Errors Analysis Theory.Analysis results show that students mother language Kirundi,official language French and improper way of training will influence on the Chinese pronunciation.According to the analysis results, the author combined with the daily teaching experience, put forward some teaching strategies,such as comparing Chinese pronunciation with Kirundi and French pronunciation,using gestures and picture,etc.
