Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy,1809~1847, was a renown Jewish composer from Germany and is known as one of the most representative figures of the German Romantic period. He is also a pianist, a conductor and soloist, and was considered as a "lyrical landscape master" in romantic musical arts. His compositions are referred as "exquisite, gorgeous and beautiful".This article will focus on Mendelssohn "Piano Trio No.1 in D minor", with detailed analysis on the works background, musical structure and features; it will give an exploration based on performer’s perception combined with an inquiry, in order to assess and analyse the performing method. This article consists in an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion.The introductive chapter will give an overview of the main contents of the analysis, its research methodology, value and significance. The first chapter assess on Mendelssohn’s biography, his contributions, and chamber music development, and creative background of this works. The second chapter focus on the musical analysis of the four mouvements composing this works. The third and final chapter is the main part of this article, giving author’s personal performing experience on her interpretation of the composer’s creative intent, and performing techniques in order to coordinate emotional expression with the instrument.Conclusive chapter will give several statements based on a brief overview of previous sections. |
