Application Of Holistic Education To Viewing, Listening And Speaking Course Of College English

Viewing, Listening and Speaking Course of College English is a new course with the integration of the network, the multimedia, the English audio, video materials and pictures, and this course is to improve the students’ listening and speaking ability. However, in the era of rapid social development, people tend to take the school as a kind of pre-employment training for finding works in society, and many schools cultivate their students skills for having a good job after graduation. And students are trained to be a person with high technology and high professional skills, but schools neglect the characteristics of students, students’ development needs and the cultivation of comprehensive quality. Holistic education is opposed to the traditional education which puts the needs of society have precedence over the needs of human being. Holistic education puts human being in the first place and believes education is not only for the enterprise training employees, for the nation training professional people but more important for fully exploring the potential of human being, to develop the full development of people, and to perfect people in the body, knowledge, skills, morality, intelligence, spirit, soul, creativity, etc..
