Viewing, Listening and Speaking Course of College English is a new course with the integration of the network, the multimedia, the English audio, video materials and pictures, and this course is to improve the students’ listening and speaking ability. However, in the era of rapid social development, people tend to take the school as a kind of pre-employment training for finding works in society, and many schools cultivate their students skills for having a good job after graduation. And students are trained to be a person with high technology and high professional skills, but schools neglect the characteristics of students, students’ development needs and the cultivation of comprehensive quality. Holistic education is opposed to the traditional education which puts the needs of society have precedence over the needs of human being. Holistic education puts human being in the first place and believes education is not only for the enterprise training employees, for the nation training professional people but more important for fully exploring the potential of human being, to develop the full development of people, and to perfect people in the body, knowledge, skills, morality, intelligence, spirit, soul, creativity, etc.. So for education, the curriculum setting, learning methods, teachers and students, and other aspects of the concept of measures are all to achieve the goal of achieving this goal. Holistic education advocates the integration of all kinds of knowledge and believes there are no boundaries between different subjects. Different subjects function in the same person, and person is active, who can effectively integrate different subjects and can pick up the suitable knowledge in different situation. So education must be a comprehensive, multi-subject and high-quality education. Holistic education to student’s growth should be multi-faceted, including the body, the emotion, the social aspects, the cognition and the creation. This paper mainly talks about how to apply Viewing, Listening and Speaking Course of College English, with the purpose for students’ whole development, which should be set up for carrying out with the characteristics of students themselves. In VLS courses, taking full use of advantages of network, multimedia and different learning methods, students can improve their listening and speaking ability to cultivate the ability of sustainable development.
