The Study Of Fiction View Of Scientific Models

With the development of science, the models of science play a more and more important role. The philosophical study of scientific models has attracted attention gradually. Scientific models are connections between the real world and scientific research. There are two kinds philosophical opinions of scientific models, as the structuralist conception the fiction view. More and more researchers pay attention to the fiction view as its potential for research and it is more controversial. As we interpret the fiction view of scientific models by pretense theory, focus on the impact of imagination to the fiction view of scientific models. Imagination as one of the human beings' instincts, when it works, the way is so deep in our mind that we cannot realize it easily. During the discussion of direction, about focusing on imagination, we try to have a new cognition about fiction view. Compared with other researches, philosophical study of scientific models is in the early, we should pay more attention on it. And the philosophical study of scientific models will play an important role on the development of science.This paper summarizes the definitions and classifications of scientific models, and makes the research scope clear on the scientific models. I have raised my own views based on the classifications of scientific models. Whereafter, the paper introduces philosophical research history of scientific models and the advantages and disadvantages of two different philosophical views, and the followed contents based on that. Roman Frigg brings the pretense theory of Kendall Walton in philosophical research of scientific models, provides a new perspective of fiction view. During the introduction of this theory, I focus on the effect of imagination to discuss the remarkable characteristic of scientific models-idealization. At last, I raise my own thoughts on philosophical research of scientific models, and analyze the revolution of modern physics based on the fiction view to demonstrate the advantages and the emerging vitality of fiction view on scientific models.
