Aiming at the shortcomings of the abrasive belt performance testing equipment, we redesigned an abrasive belt performance testing equipment to analyze the various performance indexes of the belt. This equipment pursued a goal of founding a real-time testing system which can check a series of performance indexes and evaluate the quality of the abrasive belt comprehensively.This design began with the mechanical structure of the testing machine. The emphasis of the design was structuring the control system of the belt testing machine, which is structured with the industry control system based on the combination of the Lab VIEW and PLC. This system mainly solved the following problems:1. Making the process of the performance test of abrasive belt standardized and automated.2. The machine should detect the performance parameters of the belt at any time of the test and display them on the computer.In the process of the design, two main technical difficulties were solved. They were1. The communication of the industry computer and PLC based on the Lab VIEW.2. The constant force feeding control of the slider with the screw.During the design, the problem of communication between the host and slave machine was solved with the Lab VIEW serial driver, and the problem of the constant force feeding control was solved through the fuzzy control program. After overcoming the technical difficulties, we further optimized the parameters setting during the test process to make the system parameters setting easier and make the system's control more convenient. During the testing, the current state of the grinding can be displayed in the computer screen at any time.Finally, through the debugging, the belt testing machine can normally complete the belt performance test, and achieve the design target.
