1.Analysis of the prevalence and influencing factors of overweight and obesity among children in kindergarten of Gusu districtObjective:The aim of our present study was to investigate the status of overweight and obesity among children in Gusu district kindergarten,Suzhou City,and the potential influencing factors was also explored.Our study would provide a scientific basis for the intervention to reduce children's overweight and obesity rate,improve the children's health in Suzhou areaMethods:Three kindergartens were selected in our study according to stratified cluster random sampling.The height and weight of the children were measured according to standard measurement,and the weight-for-height was assessed according to WHO standards.All parents of the children filled in the questionnaire to investigate the children's health status and health behavior.The questionnaire includede the following information: the basic information of the child,their parents and family,pregnancy situation of mother,dietary behavior and lifestyle of child,parents concepts and attitudes of diet behavior.Data of the questionnaire was input by using EpiData3.02,all statistical analysis were conducted by using SPSS19.0.c2 test and Fisher's exact method were used for single factor analysis.The single factors which had statistical significance were selected as candidate variable for Logistic regression.Results:The obesity rate was 7.8% and overweight/obesity rate was 24.3% in children aged 3to 6 years old respecitively.Compared with girls,boys are more likely to be obese or overweight(0R=1.710,P=0.008)in contrast to girls.Children exposured to secondhand smoke(OR=0.663,P=0.037)or children were considered to be slim(OR=0.007,P=0.000)or normal(OR=0.043,P=0.000)are at higher risk to be obese or overweight.While about theinfluencing factors about obese,boys are more likely to be obese(OR=2.440,P=0.014).According to the statisitcial results,the only child(OR=0.399,P=0.025),mother with BMI?24(OR=0.338,P=0.005),exposured to secondhand smoke(OR=0.508,P=0.049)are at higher risk of obesity.The attitude of parents about the shapes and sizes of children affected the risk of obesity,those children who were regarded as slim(OR=0.006,P=0.000)or normal(OR=0.029,P=0.000)are more likely to be obese.Conclusions:There had many factors affects the prevalence of overweight and obesity,thus,the prevention of overweight and obesity in children should proceed in many ways,including propagation of the nutritional knowledge for parents,scientific feeding,rational dietary habits and lifestyle,avoidance secondhand smoke.2.Analysis of the diet nutrients of recipes in Gusu district kindergartenObjective:To investigate the nutritional status in kindergarten and make dietary suggestion to reduce overweight and obesity caused by dietary unreasonable by providing reasonable nutrition guidance for pre-school children and improving the quality of nurseries.Methods:According to the method of random sampling,10 recipes for two meals(morning snack,lunch and afternoon snack)in the second semester of the 2014-2015 academic year were selected.10 kindergartens are all from the Gushu District.The percentage of the recommended amount of nutrients were calculated,and the nutrients intake were evaluated according to the evaluation method of a meal and two desserts.Results:Energy,protein,carbohydrates,sodium,vitamin B1,fat accounting are higher in more than half of the kindergartens meals,but calcium is lower than the recommended amount.Carbohydrates accounting are basically normal in 10 kindergartens.Phosphorus,potassium,magnesium,iron,zinc,selenium,copper,manganese,vitamin B2,vitamin Care all surplus in10 kindergartens.Conclusions:According to our present results,the following suggestions should be taken into account to provide nutrients-balanced diet for preschool children: pay attention to the formulation of the diet recipes,timely update the related knowledge of health teachers,improve the software of diet preparation,propagate nutrition knowledge for parents.
